Band / Material Submissions
|
What we're looking for
Arkham Radio specializes in horror-themed programming. For music, that means songs with scary lyrics
(though they can be humorous horror), eerie sounds, and disturbing riffs.
For other material, such as spoken-word, radio drama, etc., the same thing
goes. It has to be horror-themed. It can be humorous, but there must be
a thread of horror in it (e.g., The Army of Darkness movie). We
accept and encourage submissions, especially from independent bands and
artists, but accepting a submission is not a guarantee of airplay.
It is only a guarantee we will review the material for airplay.
What we don't want:
-
Anti-religious or pro-religious themes. Whether they
be anti-Christian, anti-Pagan, anti-Thumb-Worshiping-Animist or
likewise pro-. This is an entertainment station, not a proselytizing
or conversion station. It is, however, perfectly acceptable to
mention religion in the songs. We just don't want bashing or
promoting. There are plenty of pro- and anti- religious stations out
there that will be excited to receive these kinds of submissions.
-
Satan, Satan, and more Satan. There is more to horror than ol' Scratch. Black Metal is a great genre, but 300
Venom-influenced bands later The Prince of Darkness is kind of
old. We WILL play black metal, we WON'T play songs about Satan
unless they are extremely original and compelling. They must
also be from a horror perspective and not a religious one.
-
Same goes for Vampire songs. Goth is great, but over-theme has killed the undead. It has to be pretty original for us to pick it up.
-
No covers unless you are convinced they are so original in interpretation we will be blown away by your avant-garde genius.
How To Submit
Send track info to: programming@arkhamradio.comWhat we would like to see in the e-mail is the name of your band, your website address, contact info, and a link to sample MP3s. If you don't have sample MP3s online, let us know and we will arrange something with you. You can also let us know any type of bio or anything else.
IMPORTANT
By submitting you are giving us permission to play the tracks and/or albums you submit royalty-free. Live365 is licensed for ASCAP/BMI/SESAC musicians, so if you are associated with one of these organizations it's already covered. We don't have the facilities (or budget) to cut individual checks. If you inform us in writing to stop playing your music, we will honor your request. We play independent music for the entertainment of our listeners and to help promote good music from struggling artists. If we don't have a good relationship, no one wins.
We'll get back to you ASAP and let you know if we think your stuff fits in with our playlist. If it does, we'll want a CD to rip our MP3s from.
If sending in a CD is a problem, let us know and we'll work something out.
